Ziba World Headquarters
PORTLAND, OREGON
The headquarters campus for Ziba Design features two stories of office space above ground floor retail tenant space and achieved LEED-NC Gold status. Ziba Design’s building reflects the creativity of their profession. Their office includes two-story project rooms, studio space, a kitchen, an auditorium and a large, continuous two-story interior light well. A dramatic main stairway leads clients into the open lobby. Notable interior finishes include re-claimed fir wall siding and flooring, polished concrete floors, mineral fiber board ceilings and Corian casework. The exterior consists of elongated storefront windows, FSC certified cumaru wood siding, painted sheet metal and glazed curtain walls. On this project, R&H sourced all the wood, including the interior re-claimed fir.
The building, designed by Holst Architecture, features a layout similar to that of city streets. The open “streets” encourage employees to work in different areas throughout the building as well as collaborate easily with one another. The “alleys” feature closed spaces, conference rooms, and project rooms ideal for meetings and presentations. On the ground floor, a 200-seat amphitheater can be found. This large space offers room for large presentations, community events, panels, and screenings that are sometimes open to the public.
