Sunriver Resort Cove Aquatic Center
Sunriver, Oregon
Over the years, R&H has completed more than a dozen projects at Sunriver Resort, including the Cove pool renovation and addition, guest room remodels, exterior renovations, and guest amenity build-outs. R&H completed a major renovation and expansion of Sunriver Resort’s Cove Aquatic Center pool located near the main lodge. The facility, known as “The Cove”, features an expanded pool area with zero entry design, hot tub, waterslide, kid’s discovery area, spacious deck, and private cabanas.
The Aquatic Center project includes a ground-up indoor pool facility adjacent to the resort facility. This 10,000 s.f. building hosts a large swimming pool, lazy river, waterslide, children’s splash pad, and indoor access to the Spotted Frog poolside restaurant. Three sides of the building feature roll-up garage doors, allowing the facility to transform into a roofed outdoor park in the summer. The 12,000 s.f. outdoor event yard features trees and native plants that create privacy around the community green space available for hosting events. New parking, drive aisles, and bike/walk paths have been added throughout the expansion. The Cove Aquatic Center offers guests of Sunriver Resort an exclusive oasis where they can relax and enjoy pool amenities year-round.

Progress
Connecting to the previously completed renovation of Sunriver Resort’s Cove outdoor pool and Spotted Frog restaurant, this year-round aquatic center addition was designed with cohesiveness and guest accessibility in mind. The existing restaurant building needed to be stitched together and join the new natatorium building at the commercial kitchen while it remained open for guests. R&H crew members self-performed several scopes of work including framing, interior trim, carpentry, and exterior siding. Having this talented team of craftsmen and women on staff is always of benefit to R&H’s team but particularly during COVID times when subcontractor availability and resources became extremely stretched.
To build excitement and give younger guests an active look at the progress, R&H designed playful fence graphics of construction equipment that may be seen at the site along with descriptions of each machine’s purpose.
