R&H constructed multiple buildings Knife River in Tumalo, OR, including a shop, office and training center. The largest of the buildings, the shop, has a CMU shell with metal siding. R&H successfully accomplished pouring a 100% crack-free cement floor, per the client’s request. The building accommodates a large warehouse, three office spaces and a break room as well as a 3,000 s.f. structural steel mezzanine for tool storage. The warehouse area has two cat bays with steel beams embedded in the slab to allow tracked equipment to drive into the shop with out destroying the slab. Two overhead, 7,000-ton cranes span length of building, creating a unique pulley system. And outside, there is a truck parking lot with 150 stalls. The office building features 20,000 s.f. of administration space.
