The redevelopment of Rose Villa’s active senior living campus in SE Portland was planned around the vision of an intimate, neighborhood setting. New “pocket neighborhoods” include 75 units, providing a continuum of care. The 22-acre site is pedestrian-oriented and ADA accessible. On Main Street, residents are able to visit a cafe, enjoy the art studio or get new seedlings to plant in the community garden.

During preconstruction, a detailed plan was put in place to ensure the community remained fully occupied, operational, safe and informed of construction activities. With 100+ residents occupying the site during the course of construction, R&H’s Superintendent led weekly resident “coffee time” meetings to keep residents informed, review areas of work affected by construction in the week ahead, and answer any questions.
