This week it was announced that The Ella Apartments on the South Waterfront achieved LEED Gold certification! The 199-unit project has several sustainable features including high-efficiency water fixtures, drought resistant landscaping and locally sourced wood and aggregate. Throughout the course of the project teams were able to reduce construction waste by over 80% and were even able to reuse concrete from the previously existing warehouse.

During construction, the R&H project team spent hours working with each trade to determine ways to increase sustainability features without increasing cost.
