Kress Caplan Building

R&H performed a complete structural upgrade to two historic buildings in Downtown Portland; the Kress Annex and the original Caplan Sporting Goods building. In order to unite two separate buildings, the team installed a concrete moment frame between the buildings that helps to reduce the lateral load. Additional work included the addition of two new stairwells, a new roof, new HVAC and electrical services, fire sprinkler upgrades and prep work for several new retail tenants.
