Mint Dental Works achieves LEED Platinum

R&H served as general contractor on the nation's first dental clinic to achieve LEEDŽ certification, setting the standard for environmentally sustainable building in the dental field. The clinic earned LEED for Commercial Interiors (CI) Platinum, the highest rating possible in the LEED rating system. R&H installed a variety of reclaimed materials for finishes, many of which have unconventional uses. For example, numerous plinth blocks, normally used on the corners of door trim, were used to tile the reception area. Other examples of nontraditional materials include old school doors, chalk boards, and antique iron grills.

The project design also included a structurally detailed mezzanine that features office space, storage, and a lounge. The clinic opened for business in the summer of '08.
